Objective of the Cout"se
To enable successful classroom teachers at the high school level to deepen their knowledge of their subject and to examine ways of increasing their competence as teachers.
Entrance Requirements
1. B.A. or B.Sc. from a recognized university showing sorne in-terest in a teaching subject (e.g. Chemistry, English, Math-ematics, etc.).
2. Class l Diploma (or its equivalent) valid in Quebec, with satis-factory standing.
3. Recommendation for teaching ability.
Course Requirements
1. lndividually prescribed programme in the teaching subject or allied subjects. These courses will be taken under the direction of the appropriate Department in the McGill Faculty of Arts and Science.
2. Tutorial or seminal' course of Reading and Research in the teaching subject. This will be under the direction of the Faculty of Education, or will be given jointly by the Faculty and the Department concerned.
3. The submission of a paper or project report on the teaching of the subject.
Time Requirement
A minimum of two years, at least one of which must be full-time study. lt should be possible for weIl prepared candidates to complete the requirements through subsequent part-time or sum-mer work.

First year - $640 Second year - $300
Applications
Applications should be made to the Faculty of Education of McGill University, Macdonald College, P.Q. on or before May 15. A transcript of undergraduate programme and professional training should be enclosed along with the name of the principal from whom references for teaching ability may be obtained.
