À partir de 1609, quelques hommes observent le ciel avec des lunettes puis plus tard avec des télescopes. Cela va permettre de voir de nouveaux détails dans notre système solaire et d’apporter de nombreuses découvertes.Vous découvrirez vous aussi, le fonctionnement d’une lunette et d’un télescope.

La lumière émise par les étoiles est riche de nombreux messages.
En la décomposant, les scientifiques vont pouvoir décrypter la distance, la masse, la présence d’exoplanètes et le mouvement des étoiles ! Vous observerez, vous aussi, les propriétés de la lumière, vous pourrez déduire la qualité de votre ciel et la température de certaines étoiles.

Une conférence sur ce magnifique phénomène visible dans les régions polaires par nos astronomes de retour de voyage en Islande.

L’atmosphère terrestre bloque le passage de certaines ondes lumineuses, aussi, les hommes ont envoyé des télescopes et sondes spatiales dans l’espace. Le recueil grandissant d’informations s’accompagne d’une floraison de nouvelles questions… Vous percevrez les efforts mis en œuvre pour répondre aux mystères de l’Univers et vous saurez comment repérer certains de ces astres artificiels. Observez en fin de journée le ciel étoilé.

18h30 : CONCERT D’HIVER « JAZZ DE FRANCE »
«Jazz de France» développe un concert autour de compositeurs, chanteurs musiciens français et américains passionnés de jazz et de la France. Sur des arrangements originaux du quartet donnant une nouvelle couleur aux titres interprétés, les musiciens échangent en osmose aussi bien sur de la chanson française que sur des standards américains.

14h00-16h : FIGHT SKI CLUB
Venez affronter le chronomètre, sur la célèbre piste de Skicross de Val Thorens. Vous prendrez le départ avec un transpondeur attaché à votre chaussure de ski qui calculera votre temps de descente. À faire entre amis ou en famille. En fin d’après-midi, un podium pour les meilleurs jeunes sera mis en place et la liste des chronos sera dévoilée à 17h30 devant la Maison de Val Thorens, place Caron.

From 1609, a few men observed the sky using Dutch perspective glasses, followed by telescopes. This enabled them to see new details in our solar system and to bring about a lot of new discoveries. You will discover how Dutch perspective glasses and telescopes work.

The light emitted by the stars is full of messages. By breaking them down, scientists can work out the distance, mass, the presence of extra solar planets and the movement of stars! You will observe the properties of light, analyse the quality of your sky and the temperature of certain stars

A meeting to learn more about this magnificent phenomenon that can be seen in Polar regions by our astronomists who have just returned from a recent exploratory visit to Iceland.

The earth’s atmosphere blocks certain light waves, which is why telescopes and probes have been sent into space. The information collected in this process created a whole new set of questions. You will understand what it takes to investigate the mysteries of the universe, and you will learn how to recognise artificial stars too. Observe the starry sky at the end of the day.

Race against the clock on the famous Val Thorens skicross run.
Head to the start line with a transponder attached to your ski boot, which will time your descent. Enjoy this friendly competition in a fun atmosphere with family or friends. At the end of the afternoon, there will be a podium for the best youngsters, and the list of times will be revealed at 5.30pm in front of Maison de Val Thorens, Place Caron.
