This is a book by neuropathologists for neuropathologists. Nevertheless, it offers valuable information to anyone interested or working in other neuroscience specialities. What, in particular, does it offer to the neuroradiologist?

There are concise but compre-hensive overviews of the subject in two introductory chapters, entitled Definition of dementiaand Important anatomical landmarks. These alone are enough to put this book on the ‘‘recommended reading’’ list for ev-ery resident in neuroradiology.

There is, however, more: while this generously illustrated volume fo-cuses on brain sections and stained microscopy sections, images of dif-ferent modalities from our field (CT, MRI) are also included.

In summary, this monograph will seldom be found on a neuroradiol-ogist’s personal bookshelf, but it is a reference volume which belongs in all well-stocked institutional li-braries, even—and perhaps espe-cially—in neuroradiology departments.
