This book contains the papers from the 14th CAAD Futures international conference, held July 2011 at the University of Liège, Belgium.

These papers represent the state-of-the-art and the leading edge of research in this field. They pave the way for the development of advanced computer-based tools to aid designers in architecture.

This volume will be of particular interest to researchers, PhD students and users of advanced computer systems in architectural design.

The CAAD Futures conferences provide a platform of the highest scientific level and promotes international research interactions in the field of Computer Aided Architectural Design. It reflects on design methodology and discusses the latest innovations in CAAD technology. It is concerned with both the actual technology and the complexities of its use in the human practice of architectural design.

The general objective of the conference series is to provide a forum for the presentation of the latest advances in :

- design and computation theory,

- the reception and transformative effects of computation in design practice in architecture,

- the technology, instrumentation and media linked to architecture, design, building performance and fabrication,

- design teaching and communication strategies.

The first conference was held in Delft in 1985 and the series has continued every two years through Boston, Zurich, Pittsburgh, Singapore, Munich, Atlanta, Eindhoven, Tainan, Vienna, Sydney, Montreal and Liège.

By merging the wedges on two incident half-edges into one set of wedges on an edge, unnecessary wedges can be efficiently pruned during the wedge propagation process and the number

Based on the discrete exponential map, our method can efficiently compute the Rie- mannian center and the center of mass for any geodesic Voronoi diagram.. The second algorithm uses

Computing the clipped Voronoi diagram in a convex domain is relatively easy—one just needs to compute the intersection of each Voronoi cell and the domain, both being convex.

Instead of computing a globally smooth parameterization or integrating curvature lines along a tangent vector field, we simply apply an iterative relaxation scheme which
