SEVENTEENTH ANNUAL DAKOTA HISTORY CONFERENCE
A call for papers is requested for the Seventeenth Annual Dakota History Conférence to be held at Madison, South Dakota, on the campus of Dakota State College on April 12 and 13, 1985.
Papers should relate to some aspect of South Dakota, Dakota Territory, or the history of the Upper Great Plains Région. Deadline for submission of papers is January 31, 1985.

THE PANAMERICAN INSTITUTE OF GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY
The Chairman of the Commission on History of the Panamerican Institute of Geography and History invites Canadian historians to collaborate with the Journal of the PAIGH, Revista de Historia de America, by submitting articles on the history of America, of approximately 40 letter-size pages in any of the four languages of the organization (Spanish, French, English and Portuguese). Two copies must be sent to:

The author of articles published will receive 30 reprints of the article as well as one copy of the issue of the Journal in which it appears.

Last May, Lady Paskin, MBE, editor of The Hatcher Review, paid a visit to the CHA office. After her visit we were convinced that our membership would like to know of the existence of this journal. The Hatcher Review is a history magazine of the Salisbury Région in England and more. It is published two times per year. ******** ACCESS TO INFORMATION
On Friday, November 2 at 2:30, Inger Hansen, the Information Commissioner, who has expressed an interest in meeting with représentatives of the CHA, will corne to the fall Council meeting to talk about her office and our difficulties as historians with the Access to Information régulations. Although the discussion may remain on a rather general level, it would be helpful if we could round up from our membership

Le vendredi, 2 novembre, à 14h30, Inger Hansen, Commissaire à l'information, qui a exprimé le désir de rencontrer des représentants de la SHC, s’adressera aux membres du conseil, lors de leur réunion automnale, sur le rôle de son bureau ainsi que les difficultés auxquelles peuvent faire face les historiens à cause de la réglementation de l’accès à l’information. Il serait utile que le conseil ait certains exemples précis de
problèmes vécus par des historiens dans ce domaine afin d’éviter que la discussion se maintienne à un niveau trop général. Veuillez, s’il-vous-plaît, faire parvenir aux éditeurs, pour le 26 octobre prochain, vos expériences, commentaires ou inquiétudes découlant de cette législation.
