Esta revisão de literatura mostra que as técnicas de ETCS (autógenas) apresentam alta previsibilidade de sucesso, devido, principalmente, às duas fontes de nutrição ao tecido, o periósteo e o retalho que o recobre, e que a sua desvantagem é a necessidade de um segundo sítio cirúrgico.
Observou-se que a técnica de enxerto alógeno com MDA (Alloderm®) é uma possibilidade de escolha que apresenta resultados satisfatórios e elimina a necessidade de um segundo sítio cirúrgico (doador), principalmente nos casos de tratamento de recessões múltiplas.
No caso clínico realizado observaram-se diferenças nos resultados entre as técnicas (autógena x alógena). Nos sítios tratados com ETCS houve 86,4% de recobrimento radicular (percentual compatível com os achados na literatura). Já nos sítios tratados com MDA observou-se um contraste com a maioria dos estudos registrados na literatura, pois atingiu 41,6% de recobrimento radicular. Entretanto, em relação ao ganho de mucosa ceratinizada, que permitirá melhorar os resultados a partir de uma segunda cirurgia periodontal, as técnicas se mostraram similares.
Portanto, não há técnica ideal. As indicações de cada técnica, assim como as limitações anatômicas e biológicas de cada caso clínico, devem ser consideradas durante o planejamento.
Ao longo do estudo foi possível ainda observar que faltam estudos de avaliação em longo prazo, pois grande parte dos estudos apresentam casos de sucesso, mas com dados de avaliação de curto prazo.
