™ No programa preventivo, o treinamento físico aeróbico, de intensidade moderada:

¾ Não alterou o tamanho da placa aterosclerótica, mas reduziu o conteúdo de gordura e aumentou o conteúdo de colágeno das placas;

¾ Evitou o ganho de massa corporal, diminuiu a pressão arterial caudal, evitou o aumento do colesterol total, mas não modificou as frações;

¾ Não provocou alterações nas citocinas plasmáticas TNF-α e IL- 6 e na atividade da MMP-9 plasmática;

¾ Diminuiu a expressão de CD40 na placa aterosclerótica, mas não alterou a expressão de CD40L, a expressão da MMP-9 e a formação da nitrotirosina nas placas.

™ No programa terapêutico, o treinamento físico aeróbico, de intensidade moderada:

¾ Não alterou o tamanho e o conteúdo de gordura da placa aterosclerótica, mas aumentou o conteúdo de colágeno da placa;

¾ Diminuiu a pressão arterial caudal, mas não provocou a perda de massa corporal, não diminuiu o colesterol total plasmático e não modificou as frações;

¾ Não provocou alterações nas citocinas plasmáticas TNF-α e IL-6 e na atividade da MMP-9 plasmática;

¾ Não alterou a expressão da MMP-9 e a formação da nitrotirosina nas placas ateroscleróticas e devido ao reduzido numero de casos, não foi possível tirar conclusões a respeito da expressão da via de sinalização CD40/CD40L na placa aterosclerótica.
