Table B-1 lists the special keys and their uses in the VisiSchedule pro-gram. For the special keys on the numeric key pad to function, the Num Lock key must be in the position that disables the numerals. The Num Lock key works like a toggle switch; each time you press the key you alternately activate the numerals and the special keys on the numeric key pad.

Moves the cursor from one menu option or list entry to another in a horizontal direction.

Moves the cursor from one menu option or list entry to another in a vertical direction.

Selects the option or list item to which the cursor is pointing.

During data entry, the BKSP key erases characters for correction.

WARNING: DO NOT PRESS THE Ctrl-Alt-Del COMBINATION until you have exited the VisiSchedule program. Pressing these keys causes the program to restart without saving your data.

Selects the Delete option if the Main menu is on the screen. Selects the Erose option if the Schedule display with the last job in the schedule. Functions as if you selected Goto and entered the number of the last job in the schedule. The End key can be used only if the Schedule menu is on the screen and if the Num Lock key is set to deactivate the numeric key pad.

Cancels some executing functions such as report printing, and cancels all data entry without making a change to the current value.

Selects the Load option. Pressing Fl is equivalent to moving the cursor to Load and pressing .J. The Fl key can be used only if the Main menu is on the screen.

Scrolls the schedule 20 time units to the left within the window of the Schedule display. Pressing FlO is equivalent to typing 20L. The FlO key can be used only if the Schedule menu is on the screen.

Shifts the schedule within the screen to begin the display with the first job in the schedule. Functions as if you selected Goto and entered the number of the first job in the schedule. The Home key can be used only if the Schedule menu is on the screen and if the Num Lock key is set to activate the special keys.

Selects the Insert option if the Schedule menu is on the screen. Pressing the Ins key is equivalent to moving the cursor to Insert and pressing the ~ key.

The Num Lock key must be set to ,activate the special keys for the Ins key to function.

Shifts the schedule so that the next page of the proj-ect is displayed. Pressing PgDn is eqUivalent to typing 17U. The PgDn key can be used only if the Schedule menu is on the screen and if the Num Lock key is set to activate the special keys.

Shifts the schedule so that the previous page of the project is displayed. Pressing PgUp is equivalent to typing 17D. The PgUp key can be used only if the Schedule menu is on the screen and if the Num Lock key is set to activate the special keys.

Prints the current contents of the screen to the printer you connected to the parallel port.

Marks an item for selection in lists that allow multiple selection. Switches the cursor between menu lines.

Specifies day, week, month, or year for relative dates.

Indicates a relative date.

Jumps to the next field in a date entry. In job names, separates the slash tag from the main part of the name.

The VisiSchedule program can operate with a variety of printers. The program is initially set up to work with the IBM® 80 CPS Matrix Printer.

Other printers have been tested successfully with the program.

This appendix lists the printer and printer adapter combinations that have been tested successfully. Then, it gives you instructions for enter-ing values for options in the Hardware Options menu. Finally, setup strings are listed for compressed mode printing for various printers.
