O solo superficial da rizosfera de Rhizophora mangle do manguezal do Rio Pacoti – CE abriga populações diversas e estáveis de micro-organismos. A composição das comunidades microbianas está relacionada com as variáveis ambientais e as características dos solos e a estrutura das comunidades de bactérias e arquéias variou espacial e sazonalmente. A partir dos resultados deste trabalho é possível inferir que os impactos decorrentes da urbanização da região parecem não estar afetando as populações microbianas, já que não se detectou predominância de nenhum UTO, evidenciando que essa comunidade está em equilíbrio.
