To determine what level of support you should define, locate and fill in "Worksheet 10A-Multiple Logical Terminals" and "Worksheet 10B-Multiple Logical Terminals for AEA." These worksheets are located in Appendix A, "Configuration
Worksheets. "
Use "Worksheet 10A-Multiple Logical Terminals" to plan ML T for 3270 devices;
use "Worksheet 10B-Multiple Logical Terminals for AEA" to plan MLT for ASCII devices. The following steps explain how to fill out each worksheet.
For 3270 Devices:
Step 1
In the Device Type/Screen Size column, specify the device and screen size for each controller port that has a CUT display attached to it (for example, CUT 24 x 80).Note: If Feature 6 will be used on a CUT display station (for example, on a 3180 Model 6) and the display station user will be using ML T and changing the screen size, you must specify the largest screen size (for storage purposes).
Step 2
In the EAB? column, specify whether the CUT display stations have extended attribute buffers (EABs). Specify a "V" or "N" (Ves or No).Step 3
In the Number of Sessions column, specify the number of host sessions for the listed devices. The maximum is 5 sessions.If you are calculating the ML T level for:
• A primary link (Host 10 1A), include both 3270 and ASCII host devices.
• A secondary link (Host 10 2A or 3A), include only 3270 host devices.
Note: Each 3270 host session requires a host address. Local Non-SNA, or BSC controllers are permitted a maximum of 32 host addresses.
Step 4
To determine how much storage to reserve for each listed device, refer to:• Table 6-3 on page 6-17 if you are not using Multi-Host Support.
• Table 6-4 on page 6-17 if you are using Multi-Host Support.
Write in the amount of storage required for each device in the ML T Storage Required column.

Note: If you are planning storage for ASCII Tektronix 4205s or UDT tables for which transparency is being defined, you must add additional storage. Base the additional storage amounts on screen size. If the display is 24 X 80, add 2KB more of storage;
if the display is 30 X 80 or 32 X 80, add 4KB more of storage. If you are planning for only one logical session on an ASCII display station, no additional storage is required. This applies regardless of Multi-Host Support.

appropriate line at the bottom of the MLT Storage Required column:
• If you are planning ML T for 3270 devices only, write this amount on the Total line.
Using the total calculated amount of ML T storage required,
determine which level of ML T support you should select. Consider future expansion needs as you do this. See the chart on 6-18 for help determining the level of support you need.
• If you are planning ML T for ASCII devices as well as 3270 devices, write the amount on the Subtotal line. Then continue with the following section.
For ASCII Devices:
Step 1
In the Device Type/Screen Size column, specify the device and screen size for each controller port to which an ASCII display is attached (for example, ASCII 32x
80).Note: Storage is required for AEA MLT in addition to KB storage required for the selected level of MLT. Chapter 3, "Planning for Controller Storage" contains specific information about storage requi rements.
Step 2
In the Number of Sessions column, specify the number of host sessions (ASCII or 3270) for the listed devices. (The maximum is five sessions.)Each 3270 host session requires a host address. Local Non-SNA or BSC controllers are permitted a maximum of 32 host addresses.
Step 3

4 After calculating the amount of storage each device requires for ML T support, add these amounts to determine the total amount of ML T storage requi red for ASCII devices. Write this amount on the Subtotal line at the bottom of the ML T Storage Required column. Add this amount to the Subtotal from the bottom of worksheet 10A (storage required for 3270 devices). The sum of these two figures is the total amount of ML T storage that you require. Write this amount at the bottom of the MLT Storage Required column of worksheet 10B.Step 5
Using the following chart and considering future expansion, determine which level of ML T support you should select.If the total
Figure 6-2 shows an example of an MLT Worksheet that was completed using the values from Table 6-4.

In this example, 100KB is the total amount of storage required. Level 1 reserves only up to 64KB and would therefore be insufficient. Level 2 of ML T reserves up to 128KB, which would be sufficient, but considering eventual expansion, you may decide to choose Level 3 support (512KB) or higher.
