O presente estudo avaliou uma intervenção do hábito de vida em pacientes com a alteração mais precoce desta cascata, a gastrite, e pôde-se observar que a alteração do pH da água ingerida por 4 meses foi capaz de melhorar a gastrite clinicamente, e parece ter uma tendência ao aumento de expressão de microRNAs considerados benéficos no processo de carcinogênese em câncer gástrico.

Desta forma, o atual estudo, serve como gerador de hipóteses e como questionamento sobre qual será o pH ideal das bebidas consumidas com regularidade como a água, podendo servir como base para estudos maiores e randomizados.
