12.2.8.2.4 Budget Proposals for 194-9: Maternal and Child Health COMMITTEE ON ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE
INCREASE OF APPROPRIATION FOR THE CHAPTER ON MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH
PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY THE DELEGATION OF BYELORUSSIA The delegation of Byelorussia considers that the total appropriation of $239,875 for the Chapter on Maternal and Child Health in the WHO budget for 1948 is disproportionately small in
comparison with appropriations for other chapters in WHO budget.
Taking into account the paramount importance of the work concerning maternal and child health, in the expansion of which all countries are interested and which differs from that of certain other sections, not concerning all countries without exception, but having a purely local character, the delegation of Byelorussia requests that the question of increasing the appropriation for that chapter, while proportionately reducing appropriations for other chapters providing for less important work, should be considered.
