Preface

CLA 2018 was held in Olomouc, Czech Republic, and it was organized by Dept.

of Computer Science, Palack´y University Olomouc from 12 until 14 June 2018.

The CLA conference is an international conference dedicated to Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) and areas closely related to FCA such as data mining, informa- tion retrieval, knowledge management, data and knowledge engineering, logic, algebra and lattice theory. CLA provides a forum for researchers, practitioners, and students.

The program of the conference included four keynote talks given by the following distinguished researchers: Edouard Machery (Center for Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh, USA), Pauli Miettinen (Max-Planck-Institut f¨ur Informatik, Saarbr¨ucken, Germany), Lakhdar Sais (CRIL “Centre de Recherche en Informatique de Lens”, France) and Filip ˇZelezn´y (Czech Technical University in Prague).

This volume includes the selected papers and the abstracts of the invited talks.

This year, 41 papers were submitted, from which 17 papers were accepted as regular papers and 6 as short presentations.

We would like to thank here the contributing authors for their valuable work, the members of the program committee and the external reviewers who analyzed the papers with care. Then we would also like to thank the steering committee of CLA for giving us the occasion of leading this edition of CLA, the conference participants for their participation and support, and people in charge of the organization.

We also thank the Easychair conference system as it made easier most of our administration tasks related to paper submission, selection, and reviewing. Last but not least we thank Jan Outrata, who assembled the proceedings from the LATEX files of the individual contributions that we gave him.
