I found your address in a girl’s magazine. So I’m writing to you because I want to Know about Algeria. But first I must tell you about myself.

My name is Jillian Clift. I am sixteen. I’m average height. I have blue eyes and light brown hair. In my next letter, I’ll send you a photo of myself.

I like reading, travelling and I love pop music. My friends and I often listen to records in my house, after school. I love swimming too.

Every Friday afternoon, our gym teacher takes us to the swimming pool. In the summer, we ride our likes to the beach. It only takes ten minutes. Another of my favorite hobbies is collecting stamps. I’ve got a few Algerian stamps. They are very nice. I hope you will send me some.

The house I live in, with my parents and my brother isn’t very big. It has a small garden behind it. My room is rather small and is often in a mess because I leave my jeans and tee shirts all the place. I love wearing tee-shirts and jeans.

My family isn’t very large. My father is a bus-driver. He hates working at night. My mother is an assistant in a music shop. She enjoys listening to classical music. My brother Robert is eighteen. He still goes to school, but he’ll leave in July to go to university next September.

The school I go to is a comprehensive school. I’m in the fifth form. The exam at the end of this school-year is a very important one. So I must work hard. My favorite subjects are math’s and physics. The foreign language I learn is French. It’s a pity. I can’t write to you in Arabic. I hope you’ll teach me some. I make a lot of mistakes when I write in Arabic. So I prefer writing to you in English.
