In the
respiratory
tract, themajor immunoglobulin

demonstrated the presence of alveolarmacrophages
andlymphocytcs.
During
anexperimental
swine influenza infection, BB’e observed asystemic
ccll-mediated immune response, followedby
anindependent
increase of local(IgG
andIgA)
andsystemic
anti-bodies. Whereas serum antibodies
persisted,
local antibodies wereonly
detectableduring
ashort
period.
Colostral
immunity
is able to reduce clinicalsymptoms
of the disease, however inhibition of viralreplication
and releaserequires
efficient localimmunity.
Classical swine fever. Duration of the immunity obtained
in
sowsby vaccination with the Thiverval strain
