Instructions for Authors 1. Manuscript Submission

The journal Studia Territorialia AUC publishes original scholarly manuscripts that have not been published anywhere else, are not currently awaiting publication in other journals, and are not being considered for publication by another journal. Manuscripts are accepted in the English, Czech, and German languages. In the case of English-language manuscripts, American English is preferred, but British English is also acceptable so long as the quality of the writing is good and spelling is consistent.

Insofar as style is concerned, authors should consult either the Chicago Manual of Style or the Oxford Style Manual.

Manuscripts for consideration are to be sent to the editorial board via the e-mail address

stuter@fsv.cuni.cz in a standard format (.doc or .rtf). All correspondence between the author and the editorial board will take place via e-mail.

Manuscripts considered for publication shall be sent to external anonymous reviewers. The period between the submission of manuscripts and their return to respective authors for authorization, resubmission of the revised manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments, or with an outright rejection will not exceed three months. The editorial board reserves the right to edit the article in accordance with its own editorial standards or to reject the article with no obligation to provide a reason.

Manuscripts requiring excessive editing due to failure to respect the journal’s editorial guidelines or poor presentation or language will be returned to the respective authors.

2. Copyright

The copyright of each journal issue rests with the publisher Karolinum (Charles University Press).

Authors of accepted articles will be required to conclude a standard copyright transfer agreement with the publisher before publication.

3. Editorial Guidelines

An article should normally be between 25 and 40 pages in length, whereas a book review would ideally be 5 to 10 pages in length. Longer texts may also be considered if the subject matter warrants such treatment. All articles, regardless of language, must contain an English-language abstract between 100 and 150 words in length as well as four to six keywords.

A submitted manuscript must contain the following items: title page, abstract, keywords, main text, and addenda (if there are any). In a covering letter, the author must disclose his or her full name,

institutional affiliation, a brief biographical note in the language of the manuscript, an address to which author’s copies are to be sent, and contact information. Articles by more than one author must include a single contact person for purposes of correspondence.

Names from other alphabets must be shown in the Latin alphabet. A transliteration table valid for the given language must be consulted when transliterating bibliographical items in footnotes (Library of Congress, Oxford Dictionary, ČSN). Standard transcription should be used for foreign names in the main text.

4. Reference Style

Authors should adhere to the classical reference style. References should be presented in the form of footnotes. Bibliographical information from consulted works is included in the footnotes themselves, not in a separate bibliography.

Pokyny pro autory

1. Charakteristika přijímaných příspěvků

Časopis Studia Territorialia AUC (dále jen AUC ST) vydává původní příspěvky, jež dosud nebyly nikde publikovány, nejsou nikde v tisku a ani se nenacházejí nikde v recenzním řízení.

Příspěvky se přijímají v anglickém, českém a německém jazyce.

V případě anglických příspěvků se preferuje americká angličtina, redakce nicméně akceptuje i příspěvky zpracované v britské angličtině při předpokladu, že budou jazykově čisté a konsistentní.

Úprava stylu se řídí příslušným jazykovým manuálem (The Chicago Manual of Style resp. The Oxford Style Manual).

Příspěvky se zasílají do redakce průběžně na adresu redakční rady stuter@fsv.cuni.cz. Příspěvky musejí být zpracovány v standardním textovém editoru (.doc, .rtf). Korespondence autora s redakcí probíhá prostřednictvím e-mailu.

Studie uvažované k vydání podléhají externímu recenznímu řízení, které je oboustranně striktně anonymní. Délka recenzního řízení od momentu zaslání příspěvku do redakce až po vrácení příspěvku autorovi k autorizaci, k přepracování či se zamítavým stanoviskem nepřesahuje tři měsíce. Redakce si vyhrazuje právo upravit příspěvek v souladu s vlastní redakční linií, jakož i odmítnout příspěvek k publikaci, pokud jej shledá nevyhovujícím, a to i bez udání důvodu.

Příspěvky vyžadující neúměrnou redakční péči z důvodu nerespektování edičních zásad, ledabyle upravené či s jazykovými nedostatky budou autorům vráceny.

2. Copyright

Copyright každého čísla přísluší nakladatelství Karolinum. Předpokladem pro publikování příspěvku v AUC ST, jakož i pro další užití díla je uzavření smlouvy o převodu autorských práv (nakladatelské smlouvy) mezi autorem a nakladatelstvím Karolinum.

3. Ediční zásady

Studie má mít rozsah nejlépe 25 až 40 normovaných stran. Optimální rozsah recenzí je 5 až 10 normostran. Delší texty budou posuzovány s ohledem na vhodnost jejich zkrácení.

Všechny studie bez ohledu na jazyk publikace musejí být opatřeny anglickým abstraktem o délce 100 až 150 slov. Všechny studie musejí současně obsahovat čtyři až šest anglických klíčových slov.

Zaslaný rukopis musí obsahovat následující položky: titulní stranu, abstrakt, klíčová slova, hlavní text, příp. přílohy. V průvodním dopise autor musí uvést úplné jméno, institucionální afilaci, stručný

odborný biografický profil v jazyce publikace, adresu pro zaslání autorských exemplářů a kontaktní údaje. U článků, které mají více autorů, musí být jeden z nich označen jako kontaktní osoba pro účely korespondence.

Jména z cizích abecedních soustav se přepisují do latinky. Pro přepis bibliografických položek v poznámkách se používá transliterační tabulka platná pro příslušný jazyk (Library of Congress, Oxford Dictionary, ČSN). V hlavním textu se pro přepis jmen z cizích soustav používá zavedená transkripce.

4. Systém odkazování

Autoři se drží klasického systému odkazování. Reference mají podobu poznámek pod čarou.

Bibliografický záznam odkazovaných zdrojů se uvádí v poznámkách pod čarou, a nikoli jako samostatný seznam literatury.

Hinweise für Autoren der Zeitschrift ST AUC 1. Die Charakteristik der Beiträge

Die Zeitschrift Studia Territorialia AUC (im Folgenden ST AUC) veröffentlicht nur Originalbeiträge, die zuvor noch nirgendwo publiziert wurden und sich auch nirgends im Druck oder im Lektorat befinden. Es werden Beiträge in englischer, tschechischer und deutscher Sprache angenommen. Im Falle englischsprachiger Aufsätze wird die amerikanische Sprachvariante bevorzugt; die Redaktion akzeptiert jedoch auch Beiträge in britischem Englisch unter der Bedingung, dass diese sprachlich einwandfrei und konsistent sind. Die Adaptation erfolgt nach dem entsprechenden Sprachleitfaden (The Chicago Manual of Style bzw. The Oxford Style Manual).

Die Beiträge werden durchgehend an die Redaktion geschickt, und zwar an die E-Mail-Adresse des Redaktionsbeirates: stuter@fsv.cuni.cz. Die Beiträge müssen mit einem Textverarbeitungsprogramm erstellt worden sein, das den gängigen Standards (.doc, .rtf) entspricht. Die Korrespondenz des Autors/der Autorin mit der Redaktion erfolgt per E-Mail.

Studien, die für die Publikation in Betracht kommen, unterliegen einem zweifachen Lektorat, das strikt anonym ist. Die Länge dieses Verfahrens beträgt ab dem Moment der Einreichung des Beitrages an die Redaktion bis zur Rückgabe an den Autor/die Autorin zur Autorisierung, Überarbeitung oder mit einem ablehnenden Bescheid maximal drei Monate. Die Redaktion behält sich das Recht vor, den Beitrag in Einklang mit den eigenen Redaktionsrichtlinien zu redigieren, ebenso wie seine Publikation

abzulehnen, sollte sie ihn nicht als akzeptabel betrachten, ohne dies begründen zu müssen.

Beiträge, die eine unverhältnismäßige Redaktionsarbeit verlangen aufgrund von Nichtbeachtung der Editionsregeln oder formaler und sprachlich-stilistischer Mängel, werden den Autoren zurückgegeben.

2. Copyright

Das Copyright jeder Nummer liegt beim Karolinum-Verlag. Die Voraussetzung für die Publikation eines Beitrages in ST AUC, ebenso wie für die weitere Nutzung des Werkes ist der Abschluss eines Standard-Verlagsvertrags mit dem Karolinum-Verlag.

3. Editionsregeln

Die Studie sollte einen Umfang von 25 bis 40 Normseiten (à 1800 Zeichen inkl. Leerzeichen) haben.

Der optimale Umfang von Buchbesprechungen beträgt fünf bis zehn Normseiten. Längere Texte werden in Hinsicht auf ihre Eignung zur Kürzung beurteilt.

Alle Studien müssen, ohne Rücksicht auf die Publikationssprache, mit einem englischen Abstract in Länge von 100 bis 150 Worten versehen werden. Für alle Studien müssen zugleich vier bis sechs englische Keywords angegeben werden.

Das zugesandte Manuskript muss folgende Teile beinhalten: Titelseite, Abstract, Keywords, Haupttext, ggf. Beilagen. Im Begleitbrief muss der Autor/die Autorin seinen/ihren vollständigen Namen angeben, ebenso wie seine/ihre institutionelle Zugehörigkeit, eine wissenschaftliche Kurzbiographie in der Sprache der Publikation sowie eine Kontaktadresse für die Zusendung der Autorenexemplare. Bei Aufsätzen, die mehrere Autoren haben, muss einer von diesen als Kontaktperson für die Korrespondenz mit der Redaktion bestimmt werden.

Namen aus anderen Schriftsystemen werden ins lateinische Alphabet überführt. Für die Transliteration bibliographischer Angaben in den Fußnoten wird die für die jeweilige Sprache gültige

Transliterationstabelle verwendet (z. B. Library of Congress, Oxford Dictionary, ČSN). Im Haupttext

wird die jeweils übliche Form der Transkription für Namen aus anderen Schriftsystemen verwendet.

4. Anmerkungssystem

Die Autoren halten sich an das klassische Anmerkungssystem. Die Verweise haben die Form von Fußnoten am Seitenende. Ein eigenständiges Literaturverzeichnis ist nicht vorgesehen.
