Our Mission: People of God, united in Christ, serving others, welcoming all to the Table of Life

Our Lady of Lourdes † Saint Anne

Dear Friends,

Today is Palm Sunday when we recall Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem to the acclaim of crowds of people. We have begun Holy Week, the most important period on the Catholic calendar. This week is full of spiritual opportunities.

On Monday there will be a communal penance service at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 7PM. On Tuesday evening at 6pm, everyone is invited to Sacred Heart Cathedral for the Chrism Mass during which Bishop Matano will bless the holy oils that will be used in all the parishes of the Diocese during the coming year.

On Thursday evening we begin the Sacred Triduum, which constitutes our “High Holy Days.” This is the most sacred time of our year. Thursday evening we will celebrate the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper at

Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 7PM.

Friday afternoon the Good Friday Commemoration of Our Lord’s Passion will be at St. Anne Church at 3PM. On Friday evening Musica Spei will present a program of sacred music for Good Friday at St. Anne at 7:30PM. Holy Saturday evening the Easter Vigil Mass begins at 8PM at St. Anne Church. These three services²the Lord’s Supper on Thursday evening, the Lord’s Passion on Friday afternoon and the first Mass of Easter on Saturday evening²are effectively one liturgy distributed over three days.

During these Three Holy Days we tell again the story of Christ’s suffering, death and resurrection so that we can reflect on how God is working in our lives and our community today. How is God calling us to conversion? How are we being recreated in the dying and rising of Christ?

Grace and peace, Fr. Gary Tyman

does not dissolve it, and a spark of divine light is within each of us. Pope Francis

DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET

The Knights of Columbus Council 11411 invite you to join them in praying the Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet. They will distribute pamphlets this weekend to assist you in this private devotion.

This private devotion comes from St. Faustina Kowalska (19051938). “She lived a seemingly ordinary life as a religious in Poland. She worked and prayed for peace, faith, kindness, and obedience.” And yet, she experienced visions of Jesus.

This private devotion is an opportunity to contemplate and celebrate the greatness of God’s mercy for all people. In that mercy, may we grow in acceptance of one another.

Dear friends,

I have been thoroughly blessed getting to work here for the last 2 and a half years. I work with some incredible people who have shown me great mercy and kindness in my time here, and this has been a time of healing and rejuvenation for me. I’ve had the opportunity to utilize my existing skills and it has challenged me to develop new skills as the needs arose. It has also been a time that I’ve had to work multiple jobs to keep up with life. I have been keeping up a similar pace as I was when I was in management without the same financial security. It is bittersweet right now that I share that I have decided to go back into banking. I have a wonderful opportunity to work with an old acquaintance in a banker role outside of management. It’s been an odd feeling that I’ve been sitting with… being excited about this new opportunity, but also having this deep sadness of having to leave this amazing community that I have here. It has been a pleasure getting to know everyone, of sharing laughter and sadness and everything in between. My time here has been a gift, and I hope that I was able to contribute to this community in my small way. As I write these

inadequate words to express my love for the cluster, I have no idea who will be taking my place here. But it is my hope that everyone embrace them and show them every kindness that was shown to me and to celebrate their arrival. When I originally interviewed for this position, part of that interview was talking about love, about the love for a community and for people. It was that conversation about love that intrigued me about working here, and after I was here for about a minute, I could see that it wasn’t just words here, but rather they walked the walk they talked.

So it is with great love that I say goodbye and thank you for all of the cherished memories I will be taking with me. And until we see each other again, keep being the love the universe needs.

If this sounds like something you may want to be

involved in or if you have any questions, please contact Mary Ann Obark at

Maryann.Obark@dor.org or 5854900389.

Have You Given Thought to Becoming Catholic? Are you or do you know someone who may be interested in becoming a full member of the Catholic Church?

Notes about the Monthly offertory report:

A favorable monthly variance indicates the “weeklies”

donated during the month exceed the amount expected for the month. Meanwhile, an unfavorable monthly variance indicates the total “weeklies” donated during the month do not meet budgeted expectations and our financial

obligations may not be met.

**Although St Anne Church has a favorable variance compared to the budget for the fiscal year to date, caution must be exercised. The St Anne budget excludes many expenses normally included in an operating budget (lawn care, a dedicated custodian salary and benefits, ect) which are now provided by volunteers and/or benefactor donation. The St Anne community is grateful for our volunteers and special donations, but realize this may not continue into the future.
