!• Agenda for the seventh session of the Conference in 1978

(a) 9.242,07 - Study and evaluation of the experience of selected African

countries in the implementation of indigenization policies.

Case studies on the role of public enterprises and companies in the transformation of African economies and

(c) Studies on the role of small-scale and medJjarscale indigenous business

in the process of socio-economic transformation and development in Africa.

While on item 9.242.07, the study on indigenization has been completed and a paper is being presented, items 9.242.08 and 9.242.09 have been postponed because

of staff and resource shortages and because it was necessary to carry out urgent work on projections in preparation for the development decade of the 1980s. The papar headed "The Search for a Strategy for the Third United Nations Development Decade and the Role of the ECA Region" covers the work done on projections for

certain countries in the region.

Documents fi/CH.14/CAP.7/5 and e/CN.14/CAP.7/6 outline the follow-up to decisions

taken at the sixth session of the conference and the Kinshasa Conference of Ministers.
