COMMITTEE ON PROGRAMME
Paper submitted Ъу the Delegation of Poland
In view of the real danger of venereal diseases being spread by persons whose work entails frequent journeys from one country to
another, and by seasonal workers, many thousands of whom move from country to country or are engaged as deck-hands on board ships in various ports, and considering that such workers very often have no possibility of obtaining treatment in case of their contracting the disease,
the Polish delegation proposes th^t document 12.1.6 be supple- mented by a Recommendation to the effect that the Executive Board be requested to study the possibility of introducing a special medical certificate, to be renewed periodically, and a treatment card for this class of workers, and further, to ensure that such workers should receive free treatment in any country, as is at present accorded to sailors in all foreign ports.
These recommendations might be considered, together with paragraph 12.1.6.3.2.2V providing for the revision of the Brussels Agreement of 1924.
