Preface

Special Volume in honor of Marc Yor

In June 2009, H´elyette Geman organized a workshop in honor of Marc Yor’s sixtieth birthday. On this occasion, many friends and students of Marc gathered at Institut Henri Poincar´e, and a number of talks were given. We thought that a special issue of ESAIM P&S could emerge from the contributions and we asked the speakers if they would be willing to submit a paper. All the papers that were submitted went through the usual reviewing process, and we think that the result makes an impressive volume of high quality papers.

We are grateful to H´elyette Geman and Marc Atlan for their help in contacting the speakers. We also acknowledge the financial support of the Laboratoire de Probabilit´es et Mod`eles Al´eatoires.
