June 22nd 1958 was Jeremy Travers’ sixtieth birthday. He had dinner at his country house with his wife, Amanda, his daughter Barbara, his business partner, Gordon, and his secretary, Claudia. Next morning, when Amanda Travers went to her husband’s bedroom, she found him in bed… dead!

Gordon et Jeremy étaient partenaire en affaire et maintenant avec la mort de
Jeremy, Gordon hérite du business.
Gordon insiste qu’il n’a pas tué Jeremy malgré les soupçons de
l’inspecteur. Jeremy était son partenaire et son ami !
Elle est la secrétaire de Jeremy et était amoureuse de lui. Elle dit que Jeremy l’était aussi et qu’il lui avait promis de quitter sa femme (Amanda) pour elle et qu’il
l’épouserait. Elle était très fâchée sur Jeremy car il l’a utilisée.
Mais elle dit ne pas l’avoir tué car elle l’aimait.

Avant le souper Gordon Smith et Jeremy Travers ont eu une discussion et ont bu un verre ensemble dans la bibliothèque. Pendant ce petit moment convivial, Gordon annonce à Jeremy qu’il aime sa fille Barbara et qu’il souhaiterait l’épouser. Jeremy ne le croit pas et l’accuse de vouloir épouser sa fille pour son argent. Jeremy le
« menace » en annonçant que s’il épouse Barbara ce sera Claudia, sa secrétaire, qui héritera de tout son argent.
Vers minuit, après son dernier verre, Gordon monte les escaliers pour se diriger vers la chambre de Jeremy et on l’entend tuer Jeremy.
Part Two :
« A country house to rent »
Larry and Louise are a young couple from the USA. They want to rent the country house that’s being described in the advertisement. Do you recognize it?
