Thegoalofthepresentstudyistoillustratethefullintegrationofsensorandimaging dataintonumericalproceduresforthepurposeofidentificationofconstitutivelawsand theirvalidation. Thefeasibilityofsuchapproachesisproveninthecontextofinsitu testsmonitoredbytomography. Thebridgingtoolconsistsofspatiotemporal(i.e.,4D) analyseswithdedicated(integrated)correlationalgorithms.
Atensiletestonnodulargraphitecastironsampleisperformedwithinalabtomo- graph.Thereconstructedvolumesareregisteredbyresortingtointegrateddigitalvolume correlation(DVC)thatincorporatesafiniteelementmodelingofthetest,therebyperform- ingamechanicalintegrationin4Dregistrationofaseriesof3Dimages.Inthepresent caseanon-intrusiveprocedureisdevelopedinwhichthe4Dsensitivityfieldsareobtained withacommercialfiniteelementcode,allowingforalargeversatilityinmeshingandin- corporationofcomplexconstitutivelaws. Convergencestudiescanthusbeperformed inwhichthequalityofthediscretizationiscontrolledbothforthesimulationandthe registration.
IncrementalDVCanalysesarecarriedoutwiththescansacquiredduringtheinsitu mechanicaltest.ForDVC,themeshsizeresultsfromacompromisebetweenmeasure- mentuncertaintiesanditsspatialresolution.Conversely,anumericallygoodmeshmay revealtoofinefortheconsideredmaterialmicrostructure.Withtheintegratedframework proposedherein,4Dregistrationscanbeperformedandmissingboundaryconditionsof thereferencestateaswellasmechanicalparametersofanelastoplasticconstitutivelaw aredeterminedinfairconditionbothforDVCandsimulation.
