Job Description

Job Title: IT Business Analyst Manager’s Title Business Systems Manager

Department: IT Location: Hounslow

SECTION 1 : PURPOSE & CONTEXT Purpose

Analyse, plan, develop and implement IT solution to meet the needs of the business

Context

Pernod Ricard is the second largest wine and spirits company in the world and the fourth largest in the UK with a portfolio of great brands including Jacob’s Creek, Absolut, Martell, Malibu, Jameson, The Glenlivet, Chivas, Havana Club, Pernod and Ricard.

You will be based at the head office in Hounslow, working in an IT team of 10 employees.

Parameters

Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2008 is the database platform used to support the reporting and analytics solutions, including use of Reporting Services and Analysis Services. Excel is the main user interface to the Analysis Services cubes.

A project is underway to implement Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) dashboard functionality.

The core ERP system is SAP. A combination of off the shelf packages and bespoke developed applications are used to support specific business needs, primarily for sales and marketing.

Desktop software is Microsoft.

SECTION 2 : NEED TO ACHIEVE Key Deliverables

The analysis, design, build and implementation of IT solutions which meet the needs of the users and which are delivered on time within budget. This will involve work on the business systems (data warehouse, reporting, analysis/BI, bespoke software solutions) and projects to meet other business needs as required.

All activity must be delivered in accordance with the documented IT procedures and policies.

You will be expected to assist users with basic IT issues from time to time and you will be required to provide first line IT support, should the need arise.

Key Relationships

Excellent relationships with the business users is essential to understand requirements and to manage the implementation of systems effectively.

Other members of the IT team will be a key resource, especially the IT Operations team who manage and support the IT infrastructure, and it is critical that you develop strong and effective working relationships within the IT team.

Decision Making Authority

You will manage your own time to ensure you achieve the deliverables agreed with the IT Commercial and Reporting Systems Manager.

You will need to prioritise your workload balancing the business needs with the existing deadlines, ensuring any changes to deadlines are agreed in advance.

Essential Desirable

Qualifications

Formal education, professional qualifications or accreditations from industry bodies

Computing related degree or an equivalent computing qualification

Microsoft certifications relating to SQL server

Skills & Knowledge

Technical, specialist or professional skills required, indicating level of expertise

Structured problem solving approach Good written & verbal

communication skills

Excellent business analysis and solution design skills

Relational database report writing

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros, etc) Good project management approach SAP application and data knowledge and experience

Experience
