Sarah Hillis is over ninety years old. She lives in Oxford, a small village in the country with five cats. She is married and her husband is Tom but she hasn’t got any children. Now she is very pleased but she can remember times when her life was difficult. She usually thinks about her past

Sarah’s father died in 1915 and her mother died also year later. Thus, she started work in Mr Stuart’s house when she was 16. She worked from 6.00 in the morning unitl 9.00 at night. She cleaned all the rooms in the house before breakfast.

She earned £ 50 a year and she stayed with this family for 20 years. She loved her job very much altough she felt very tired by the end of the day.
