P.E.I: Speech from the Throne, First Session of the Fifty-first General Assembly, November 23rd, 1966

In the name of Her Gracious Majesty the Queen it is my privilege and pleasure to greet and welcome you to the First Session of the Fifty-first General Assembly of the Province of Prince Edward Island.

This Special Session has been called for the purpose of considering legislation which, if approved and enacted, will enable my Government to receive a larger share of Income Taxes collected by the Government of Canada.

A measure will be placed before you to amend The Legislative Assembly Act.

You will be asked to approve legislation to amend An Act For Raising Money on the Credit of the Consolidated Fund, and further consider any other legislation necessary at this time.

May Divine Providence guide you in your deliberations.
