Post‐Doctoral Fellowship at GATE Lyon Saint‐Etienne (2 years) 

 

The GATE Lyon Saint‐Etienne is inviting applications for a two‐year postdoctoral fellowship within  the project “Migration and the Reshaping of Consumption Patterns” (MARCO_P) funded by the  ORA‐China Program of the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR France), Deutsche 

Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG Germany), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC UK), and  the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC China). 

The MARCO_P project is coordinated by Corrado Giulietti (IZA), Jackline Wahba (University of  Southampton), Li Shi (Beijing Normal University), Du Yang (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) and  Sylvie Démurger (GATE Lyon Saint‐Etienne). The ANR funded position will be attached to the GATE  Lyon Saint‐Etienne in Ecully (France). 

Profile 

Candidates must have obtained their PhD, preferably in applied microeconomics when taking up the  position in September 2015. They should demonstrate a solid background in microeconometrics and  a strong interest in the economics of migration and the economics of inequality. Some working  knowledge of the economy of China will be appreciated, but is not required. The working language is  English. 

Terms and conditions of the position 

The employment contract will be for two years beginning in September 2015. The position is  residential and the selected candidate is required to live in Lyon.  

The selected candidate will be required to devote his/her time to the main research activities of the  project on the impact of internal migration in China on consumption patterns and preferences.
