NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS

Pascal Bouchery is a senior lecturer at the University of Poitiers, France.

He has done field research in Yunnan, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, where he first travelled in 1979. His recent contributions include a dictionary of the Apatani language (online edition) and several papers on the Nagas. His current research focuses on kinship issues in Northeast India.

Lemlila Sangtam has a M.A. in Social Anthropology from the University of Pune, India, and is a native speaker of Sangtam language. Currently she works as Extra Assistant Commissioner for the Government of Nagaland.

Harsha Man Maharjan is a Researcher in the Media Group at Martin Chautari in Kathmandu. His publications include studies of Nepali radio, the Nepali film industry, and state-media relations in Nepal.

Lokranjan Parajuli is currently a visiting research scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago under an Open Society Foundation fellowship. He has edited or co-edited several books, the most recent being L.S. Baral’s Autocratic Monarchy: Politics in Panchayat Nepal (2012).

He is also an editor of Studies in Nepali History and Society.

Satya Shrestha-Schipper holds a Ph.D in Social Anthropology from the Université de Paris Ouest (previously called Paris 10) –Nanterre– La Défense. She regularly works with UPR 299, CNRS, Paris. Her research interests are centred on religion, politics, migration and conflict. She has conducted extensive fieldwork in western Nepal, particularly in Jumla.

Anja Wagner is a lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of

Münster, Germany. She completed her postgraduate degree in Social

Anthropology from the South Asia Institute, University of Heidelberg. Her

doctoral work is on engagements with environment and place among the

Gaddi, for which she has conducted fieldwork in Himachal Pradesh.
