The CANADIAN JOURNAL OF COUNSEL-LING is the official journal of the Canadian Guidance and Counselling Association. Arti-cles are published that are of interest to coun-sellor educators as well as to practitioners working in schools, community agencies, uni-versity and college counselling centres, and other institutions in which psychological counselling is practiced. We welcome articles dealing with:
a. research reports of studies which have relevance to counselling practitioners,
b. descriptions of new techniques or inno-vative programs and practices,
c. discussions of current scientific issues, d. commentaries on current professional issues and on the role of CGCA in our society', e. critical summaries of published research and/or current issues of practice.
The Editor will be pleased to consider brief rebuttals to articles or brief commentaries (perhaps only a page or two) on issues of immediate relevance to this profession.
Manuscripts submitted for publication must adhere to the "Guidelines for Authors of
Manuscripts" found in the back of this journal.

Applications for appointment to the Board of Consulting Editors for the CanadianJournal of Counselling are requested. Five to seven persons will be appointed to the Board for a three-year term. Successful candidates will be expected to review approximately six to eight manuscripts a year. Persons interested in serving on the Board are to indicate their interest by letter and include a résumé detailing involvement in writing and research. The Canadian Journal of Counselling intends to publish in January of 1995 a Special Issue on Intercultural Counselling. Dr. Ishu Ishiyama will be the Guest Editor for this theme issue. Canadian society is becoming increasingly multicultural. As a result counsellors, counsellor educators, and researchers are faced with the complex task of recognizing sociocultural factors involved in understanding and helping individuals effectively. One-page proposals for manuscripts are requested for this issue that address practical, theoreti-cal, ethitheoreti-cal, methodologitheoreti-cal, and socio-political contextual issues related to intercultural counselling. More specifically, manuscripts might address topics such as help-seeking attitudes, preferred helper qualities and helping modes, culturally unique problems, intergenerational issues, adjustment and identity issues, non-mainstream counselling models and techniques, prejudice and cultural encapsulation, or intercultural counselling training. The one-page proposals for manuscripts should be submitted to the Guest Editor by August 1, 1993. The deadline for manuscripts of accepted pro-posals is May 1, 1994. La Revue canadienne de counseling^, l'intention de publier enjanvier 1995, une Edition spéciale sur le counseling interculturel. Dr. Ishu Ishiyama sera le
rédac-teur invité pour cette publication spéciale. La société canadienne devient de plus en plus multiculturelle. Il s'ensuit que les conseillers, les conseillers éducateurs et les chercheurs ont à faire face à une tâche complexe, celle de reconnaître les facteurs socioculturels amenant à comprendre et à aider les individus efficacement. Des plans d'une page pour les manuscrits sont exigés pour cette publication qui adressent des problèmes pratique, théori-que, ethnithéori-que, méthodologique et socio-politique reliés au counseling inter-culturel. Plus spécifiquement, les manuscrits pourraient adresser des sujets tels que les attitudes de la recherche d'aide, les qualités recherchées chez l'aidant, les modes d'aide, les problèmes culturellement uniques, les prob-lèmes intergénérationnels, les probprob-lèmes d'ajustement et d'identité, les modèles et techniques de counseling de non-intégration, ou les pro-grammes d'entrainement au counseling interculturel. Les plans d'une page pour les manuscrits devront être soumis au Rédacteur invité avant le 1er août, 1993. La date limite pour les manuscrits des plans acceptés est le 1er mai, 1994.
