Part One : Comprehension ( 15pts) A/ Reading (8pts)

When we correspond through e-mail, we usually forget about our good manners than in face to face communication.

In verbal (face to face) communication, we say to our interlocutors what we want, and the way we say the words is very important because our tone of voice indicates our emotions to them and shows if we are pleased, angry, or sad. Moreover, we use gestures and facial expressions in order to lay emphasis on what we say and to show its importance.

Interlocutors can then either check or nod their heads to indicate agreement or disagreement.

On the other hand, it is quite different when we communicate by e-mail. Our correspondent can neither see our gestures nor hear the tone of our voice. Consequently, we tend to be rude and less polite.

As a conclusion, we have to follow what e- aile s all eti uette which is a code of conduct that set the correct form for professional correspondence so as to make e-mailing less rude and more enjoyable.
