ADVANCED PROCESS
Summary of Oct. ITU-R WP5D #6 in Dresden
• Six proposals received by Oct 7, the IMT-Advanced proposal submission deadline
– Proposal based on 802.16 (from IEEE, Japan, TTA)
– Proposal based on LTE-Advanced (from 3GPP, Japan, China

• Reviewed all proposal submissions at the 6
thITU-R WP5D meeting of 14-21 Oct in Dresden, Germany
• Considered as two technologies
– IEEE Technology (three proposals are technically identical) – 3GPP Technology (three proposals are technically identical)
• All proposals considered “complete submissions”
• Step 3 (proposal submissions) completed and Step 4 (external evaluations) initiated
• Correspondence Group (CG) formed to facilitate external evaluations
• Evaluation Groups presented in 3
