National Building Code of Canada 1970

The Associate Committee on the National Building Code recommends the following revisions to the 1970 edition of the National Building Code of Canada.

rating or a 1 i-in. solid core wood door may be (a) installed in a door frame of wood of at least 2-in.

nominal thickness, and (b) used as a closure in

(i) a fire separation required to have not more than a 1 hr fire-resistance rating where such

closure is located between a public corridor and a room or suite of rooms, or

(ii) a fire separation required to have a i-hr

fire-resistance rating in buildings not exceeding

3 storeys in building height."

delete all wording after "Subsection 3.2.6." and re-place with the following:

"there shall be direct connection to the fire department headquarters by way of the municipal fire alarm system or an independently owned system or via a central station or proprietary control centre with direct com-munication with the fire department".
