Please attach the following documents with your application:
1. A statement of purpose explaining why you wish to pursue engineering studies at MINES ParisTech, what you plan to study, and what you would like to do in your career (2 pages max). See enclosed comments below.
2. A detailed Curriculum Vitae (“CV” or "resume"), compulsory: see enclosed example on the next page (to be adapted if necessary).
3. Complete transcripts for every year since you entered university.
4. List all courses that you will take before admission to MINES ParisTech that do not appear on your transcripts.
5. List any academic honours, distinctions, awards or scholarships you have obtained, including dates.
6. One or two recommendation letters from your professor(s).
7. A photocopy of your passport or identity card.
All these documents should be enclosed at the end of this file in numerical format. Add as many pages as you need. If it not possible, send it by fax at MINES ParisTech International office, (see address on 1st page).

1. Une lettre de motivation expliquant pourquoi vous souhaitez poursuivre des études à MINES ParisTech, quelles études vous comptez y faire, et quelle carrière vous souhaitez réaliser ultérieurement (2 pages max). Voir les commentaires ci-dessous.
2. Un curriculum vitae (CV) détaillé, obligatoire : cf. exemple joint page suivante (à adapter si nécessaire).
3. Les relevés de notes de chaque année depuis votre entrée à l’université.

Statement of purpose / Lettre de motivation

You can write your statement of purpose in English or in French / Vous pouvez écrire votre lettre de motivation en français ou en anglais.
Please answer to the following questions in your statement of purpose:
a) Introductory statement : Write a short summary of your studies including fields and areas of specialization.
b) Writing about your education plan: Why do you choose France for your studies? You will describe why you are attracted by France and MINES ParisTech especially. Please, explain what in MINES ParisTech curriculum is most appealing to you.
c) Writing about your professional goals: this part should be the main part of your statement of purpose. For what type of career do you hope to prepare yourself? Your career plan must be consistent with your current education, your studies at MINES ParisTech and the career you intend to undertake. Write in which industrial or economical sector you plan to work after having completed your studies. If you have had some contacts with a firm (internship, career fairs, projects…), you can support your professional project by joining letters issued by a person working in this firm.
d) Writing about your studies and MINES ParisTech: Please explain how the MINES ParisTech curriculum and the studies you did before could be the perfect equation for you.
Dans votre lettre de motivation, suivez le schéma suivant :
a) Introduction : Ecrivez un bref résumé de vos études, en précisant les domaines et les spécialités.
b) Expliquez pourquoi vous choisissez la France pour continuer vos études. Indiquez les raisons pour lesquelles vous souhaitez étudier à l’Ecole des Mines de Paris. Expliquez en particulier quels sont les points qui vous attirent le plus dans le programme d’enseignement de MINES ParisTech.
c) Partie principale : Présenter clairement vos objectifs professionnels. Quelle est la profession à laquelle vous vous destinez ? Votre projet professionnel doit être en adéquation avec les enseignements suivis, les études envisagées en France et la profession à laquelle vous vous destinez. Indiquez dans quel secteur industriel ou économique vous envisagez de travailler après avoir complété vos études. Si vous avez eu des contacts avec des entreprises (stage, forum, projets…), vous pouvez joindre à votre projet professionnel une (des) lettre(s) de soutien émanant de personnes appartenant à ces entreprises.
d) Conclusion : Explicitez comment votre expérience antérieure et les programmes de MINES ParisTech. vous
permettront d’atteindre vos objectifs
