The spawning of rainbow trout was udvanced by more rhan l month in 60% of females aftcr pimozide injection ( 10 mg/kg body weight} followed by LHRH-A injection ( 1 µglkg) 6 h. Jater.

A..dvancemenf was clearly less marked whcn we injected either LHRH-A or pimozidç alone and when che control.s wcre given only saline solution. Ovum fertility was comparable in a.11 g:roups.

Wilh the aim of avoÎding rwo successtve injeccions, we tried administering pimozide ( 10 mg/kg in an injection) and LHRH·A (implant containing 50 and 5 µ.g/kg body weight) slmur·

taoeously in brown trout during full spawning. The Jayings of females given pimozide plus

LHRH-A were grouped over a 4-day period and those of females gîven onJy pimozide or a blank

implant over 8 days.
