A p p r e c i a t i n g t h e f a c t t h a t f o r i n v e n t o r i e s of mineral r e s o u r c e s t o be prepared a s a b a s i s f o r development planning, d e t a i l e d s u r v e y s and

i n v e s t i g a t i o n s w i l l have t o be c a r r i e d out t o d i s c o v e r what mineral r e s o u r c e s a r e a v a i l a b l e and t h e i r p o t e n t i a l i t i e s ;

t h a t a c o n s i d e r a b l e r a n g e of modern t e c h n i q u e s a r e a v a i l a b l e f o r t h e c a r r y i n g o u t of s u r v e y s and i n v e s t i g a t i o n s and i n p a r t i c u l a r f o r p r o s p e c t i n g f o r uranium o r e s which a r e now i n i n c r e a s i n g demand,

1. Welcomes t h e e f f o r t s of t h e s e c r e t a r i a t i n a r r a n g i n g seminars and conferences on new metals and m i n e r a l s ;

2. Requests:

( a ) Phat t h e member S t a t e s , i n d i v i d u a l l y o r on a m u l t i n a t i o n a l b a s i s , should e s t a b l i s h i n s t i t u t i o n s f o r p r o s p e c t i n g , e v a l u a t i n g and c a r r y i n g out n e c e s s a r y i n v e s t i g a t i o n s on m i n e r a l r e s o u r c e s i n t h e i r a r e a s and should t a k e t h e n e c e s s a r y s t e p s f o r t h e i r development, u s i n g a v a i l a b l e modern t e c h n i q u e s ;

( b ) That t h e s e c r e t a r i a t aqd v J I D O g i v e t h e n e c e s s a r y a s s i s t a n c e i n t h i s r e g a r d .
