Attendance:

1. The Workshop/Consultation was attended by members of the Conference planning committee and the consultants from the countries affected by the migratory labour phenomenon; however, Botswana was only represented by an official from that country's Higji Commission in Lusaka (list of the participants is attached as Annex I).

Purpose of the Workshop/Consultation:

The purpose of the Workshop was for the planning committee to discuss with the consultants the general preparatory arrangements for the Migratory Labour Conference, consider the: outline agenda for the Conference; discuss and agree with the consultants on tha specific topics of papers they are to prepare for the

3. The following agenda formed the basis of discussion:-

(i) Briefing on arrangements for the Conference on Migratory Labour

, in-South Africa;

(ii) Consideration of £ide-Memoire- ; : (iii) Duties of the consultants;

(iv) Consideration of Agenda, assignment of topics, and time, table for

submission of contributions;

(v) Discussion of Data Bank and approach to acquisitions;

(vi) Discussion of assistance to Rapporteurs with preparation of reports.

Decisions:

4. The following decisions were reached with reference to the documents tabled

for discussion of the agenda outlined above:-

6. At its subsequent meeting the Technical Committee agreed as follows:- (i) Country Case Studies: the recorded fomat for the preparation of
