Preface

This volume contains the papers presented at LD4IE2015: Linked Data for In- formation Extraction held on October 12th, 2015 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in conjunction with the 14th International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC2015).

Additional workshop details can be found at http://oak.dcs.shef.ac.uk/ld4ie2015 The program committee selected 5 full papers for the program of LD4IE2015. In addition, the workshop, at its third edition, included an Information Extraction (IE) challenge. Training and test corpora for the challenge had been created with an innovative mothod described in the invited paper ”Creating Large-scale Training and Test Corpora for Extracting Structured Data from the Web”.

The invited speaker for LD4IE2015 is Dr. Chris Welty, a Sr. Research Scien- tist at Google in New York, and an Endowed Professor of Cognitive Systems at the VU University, Amsterdam. His main area of interest is using structured se- mantic information to improve semantic processing of unstructured information, such as using freebase to help improve web search. His latest work is on using crowdsourcing to form a new theory of truth based on diversity of perspectives and his talk at LD4IE2015 is titled ”Goodbye to True: Advancing semantics beyond the black and white”.
