Abstract. In reflecting on experiences from practical applications ofi*, the hardest challenge we have had to face was that of scaling up model acquisition. I will describe a short-term fix that worked in the instance of a project with a government agency, and a more principled approach that we have examined in the past few years. I will also recount, time permitting, experiences from the use ofi* in a project that addressed the automation of strategic alignment checking.
