Designed and engineered by Altos - the leader in multiuser microcomputer systems, the ALTOS II is a compact, state of the art Intelligent terminal that provides high perfor- mance at low cost. The Altos II terminal's display and keyboard offer a variety of design features allowing the user to fully Implement the advanced capabilities built into every Altos computer system as well as simplifying the functionality of applications software.

Features and Capabilities

Display

The display was designed to provide the maxI- mum In ease of use for the operator The display allows for tilting in order to accommodate Individ- ual opp.rCltor preferences In order to minimize eye strain, the terminal supports P31 green phosphor

with selectable black characters on a green screen or green characters on a black screen

The Altos II offers dual display formats:

25 rows by 80 or 132 characters or 40 rows by 132 characters. Display attributes include blinking, underscore, blank, dim reverse video.

Smooth scrolling is supported In either the for- ward or reverse direction. In order to maximize the life of the terminal, a CRT saver feature is sup- ported on all Altos II terminals. This feature allows for blanking of the screen after 15 minutes of non- use. However, by pressing any key, the previous display will automatically return.

Keyboard

The Altos II supports a low profile detachable key- board with angle adjustments The keyboard fea- tures a typewriter layout with a dedicated numeric keypad to perform calculator functions and fast numeric entry. All keys are designed for tactile feedback. The keyboard also supports

Communications

The Altos II terminal is the perfect complement to the capabilities built into every Altos microcom- puter system With Its 8 transmission baud rates from 110 to 19 2 K baud via a standard RS-232C Interface The printer port allows data transfer at rates between 110 and 19.2 K baud
