EM/RC33/R. 9 Registration of Herbal Medicines The Regional Committee,

Having noted the model law for registration of herbal medicines that outlines procedures for registration of such pharmaceutical preparations, developed by collaboration among the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences, the World Health Organization and Member States of the Eastern Mediterranean Region;

Wishing to express its satisfaction with the efforts made for the registration of herbal pharmaceutical preparations and the proper use of medicinal plant resources in Member States in order to promote and protect

the health of people;

RECONWENDS that Member States refer to the model law of herbal medicines as appropriate when formulating their national laws.
