EB19.R31 Appointment of a Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Region The Executive Board,

Considering Article 52 of the Constitution ;

Having taken cognizance of resolution EM/RC6A/R23 of Sub-Committee A of the Regional Com- mittee for the Eastern Mediterranean adopted at its 1956 session ; 2

Noting that no corresponding session of Sub-Committee B of the Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean has taken place in 1956 ;

Considering the communication of 31 December 1956 from the Government of Israel relating to the appointment of a Regional Director,3

1. CONSIDERS that the requirements of Article 52 of the Constitution have been fully met ;

2. APPOINTS Dr A. H. Taba as Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, such appoint- ment to become effective as from 1 September 1957 ; and

3. AUTHORIZES the Director-General to issue him a contract for five years from 1 September 1957, subject to the Staff Regulations and Staff Rules and at the salary of $15 000 previously established for regional directors.
