The study aims to identify the nature of the relationship that links the academic tendencies to academic achievement for first-year secondary school students, and to achieve the goals of the study we started from the general question:
Is there a statistically significant relationship between the academic tendencies and academic achievement of first-year secondary school students?
To answer the question, we studied the sample of the first year secondary school students, which amounted to (120 male and female students), where we used the descriptive approach because it is the method that suits the nature of the study that we are completing, and we also relied on the following statistical methods: Pearson coefficient, Siperman Brown, coefficient, test T ", Alpha Kronbach, after re-examining their psychometric properties.
Presentation and analysis of results The study reached a set of results, namely :
There is a statistically significant relationship between the academic tendencies and academic achievement of first year secondary school students. There were no statistically significant differences in the scientific inclinations of the first year secondary school students according to gender (male and female). There are statistically significant differences in the scientific inclinations of the first year secondary school students according to the different division (the scientific people and the literary people) and in favor of the scientific students of the people.
