Year long project : Conflict and reconciliation
Throughout the year we will be exploring this theme through our novels and poetry. We will focus on the Religious divide in Northern Ireland inviting people who grew up in Northern Ireland during the troubles to address the class. We also plan to set up an exchange with an integrated Irish school in Belfast to hear first hand accounts from students of what life is like in Northern Ireland at the moment. Culminating in a week long school trip to Ireland (Dublin and Belfast) under the theme of conflict and reconciliation.
