The 7th edition of ‘‘Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine – Diseases of the Fetus and Infant’’ is now available. This very comprehensive textbook, to which a total of 125 authors have contributed, represents an excellent refer-ence for all those working in the field. Despite the fact that so many authors have contributed, the book is remarkably homogeneous in terms of structure and illustration of chapters. Altogether, the various chapters give a very thorough approach and take into account the importance of new knowledge in fetal medicine and

obstetrics for perinatal-neonatal medicine. Even the history of the field, including the development of equipment, is illustrated in a chapter by T. N. K. Raju. The addition of a chapter on ethics in perinatal and neonatal medicine, which is excellent, stresses the importance of including the basic knowledge of bio-ethics into clinical reasoning. This is an excellent new edition.
