Abstract of The Master Thesis

Due to the ongoing wars , conflicts and crises the world is witnessing, as a result of these internal and international armed conflicts, most of the countries around world, have known waves of asylum, which made the issue of refugees and asylum seekers a humanitarian issue that led the international community toward finding a solution to reduce this phenomenon.

Our study comes to clarify the legal status of the refugee that can provide him the international protection and the right to seek asylum, along with his rights and duties. As well as analysing the legal mechanisms from international agreements up to the regional ones. In addition to the institutional mechanisms considered operational in this field, focusing only on the United Nations role, which includes the High Commissioner for Refugees and a group of specialized agencies that work in coordination with governments to provide protection to refugees.
