Towing bracket type:3273 For cars:FIAT PUNTO ‘99 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: 1.Make sure the towbar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the installation activity. 2.For safety, all work involving tow-bar installation (including electrical components) must be undertaken by skilled technicians. 3.Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer’s spares and fitted by qualified staff. 4.It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to towing assembly. 5. In absence of the trailer, if the towball limits the view of the numberplate, remove the detachable part of the towbar. ATTENTION: The installer has to fix on a level with the ball and in a visible position, the sticky label showing the max. mass on the hitch for the car on which you fit the towing bracket. FITTING INSTRUCTIONS: Remove and scrape all underseal from areas which may come in contact with tow-bar assembly and recoat areas with rust proof paint. •Remove the rear bumper and cut out central aperture on the lower edge of it using template and instructions supplied, to allow clearance for the ball supports. Remove the plastic cups from under the side-members. Remove the silencer, discard its support and lower the heat shield. Please note: should any foam buffers be present under the bumper, then the plates “A” and “B” supplied must be fitted, as shown in the drawing, making reference to the body existing screws. Fix the M6x20 screws supplied. If a rear crash-box is present, the above men- tioned plates are not to be used. •Lift the internal boot lining and position on the right the spreader plate “1” and on the left the spreader plate “2” inside the side-members using the holes placed on the boot floor. •Position the right side-arm “3” under the right side-member; attach to holes “4” and to hole “5” placed on the vehicle rear side. •Position the left side-arm “7” under the left side-member to hole “5” placed on the vehicle rear side. Attach to holes “4” refitting the heat shield and using the silencer support supplied “10” or “11” according to the silencer version. •Drill the bumper support bolt for holes “6”. •Fit the cross tube “8” to holes “9” and “6” and refit the rear bumper. •Torque all bolts to recommended values, fit electrical sockets and complete all electrical connections following the instructions enclosed with wiring kits and guidelines outlined in vehicle handbook; replace the internal boot lining. USE AND MAINTENANCE 1.Tow-bars should be kept clean and lubricated. For added safety, diameter of tow-ball (50mm) should be checked at regular intervals. If tow-ball measures less than 49 mm, after selected readings across diameter, tow-ball must be replaced with new system. 2.In case of detachable devices, check the absence of backlash between the tow-ball and the connection device and provide for cleaning and lubrication of them. 3.After 1000 Km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance with table: - (below).

NOTES D’INFORMATION:1.Avant de commencer l’activité d’installation s’assurer que l’attelage en objet va avec levéhicule sur lequel il doit être installé.2.L’attelage est un élément de sécurité et donc il peut être installé seulement par du personnelqualifié.3.Il faut que le personnel spécialisé remplace les éventuelles parties endommagées par despièces de rechange originales.4.Il est interdit d’effectuer toutes les modifications substantielles et les réparations structuralessur l’attelage.

5. En absence de la remorque, si la boule limite la visibilité de la plaque, démonter la partiedémon table de l’attelage.ATTENTION:L’installateur doit fixer à la hauteur de la boule et en position bien visible, l’étiquette adhésive,avec l’indication de la masse maximale sur le crochet prévue pour la voiture sur laquelle onmonte l’attelage.

INSTRUCTIONS DE MONTAGE:Enlever les éventuels mastics de protection dans les points de contact entre la coque de lavoiture et l’attelage, éventuellement vernir les parties découvertes avec du vernis antirouille.

•Démonter le pare-chocs et percer en position centrale inférieure, en utilisant le gabarit deperçage et les instructions jointes, un trou pour le passage des support boule. Ôter lesbouchons de plastic sous les longerons. Démonter le pot d’échappement, ôter son supportet baisser l’écran thermique.

Attention: S’il y a les tampons chocs en polystyrène sous le pare-chocs, monter les plaques“A” et “B” livrées, comme indiqué dans le schéma, en reference aux vis existantes de lacarrosserie. Fixer avec les vis livrées M6 x 20. S’il y a la traverse arrière chocs (crash-box)n’utiliser pas les plaques mentionnées.

•Soulever le revêtement intérieur de la malle et placer à l’intérieur des longerons lescontreplaques “1” à droite et “2” à gauche, en utilisant les trous placés sur le sol de la malle.

•Placer le tirant droit “3” sous le longeron droit; solidariser avec les trous “4” et le trou “5”.

•Placer le tirant gauche “7” sous le longeron gauche dans le trou “5”; solidariser avec lestrous “4”, en positionnant l’écran thermique, en utilisant le support pot d’échappement “10”ou “11” selon la version du pot d’échappement.

•Percer l’étrier support pare-chocs dans les trous “6”.

•Placer le tube de l’attelage “8” dans les trous “9” et “6” et remonter le pare-chocs.

•Bloquer la boulonnerie; monter la prise de courant et effectuer les connexions en suivant lesinstructions jointes à la boîte des câbles pour le câblage et celles indiquées dans la noticed’entretien. A la fin replacer le revêtement intérieur de la malle.

USAGE ET ENTRETIEN1.Il faut maintenir la boule de l’attelage propre et lubrifiée. Pour des raisons de sécurité, contrôlerpériodiquement le diametrè de la boule; si on relève un diamètre de 49 mm. après plusieursmesurages dans de différents points de la boule l’attelage ne pourra plus être utilisé jusqu’aureplacement de la boule susdite.2.Dans le cas de dispositif amovible, vérifier líabsence de jeu entre les accouplements bouleetl’attelage et pourvoir au nettoyage et à la lubrification.3.Vérifier le parfait serrage de toutes les vis après avoir parcouru 1000 Km. de traînage environ.
