Je suis sage femme d'état depuis 1970, premier prestataire de services de PF à partir de 1985 après ma formation à Tunis pour l'ouverture des 4 premiers centres de PF du pays, formatrice nationale en PF à partir de 1987,

formatrice sous régionale en PF à partir de 1994, formatrice sous régionale en conseil dépistage du VIH à partir de 2000, consultante en PF pour USAID, INTRAH, GTZ, VIH SIDA pour FHI, chargée du programme santé familiale et prévention du SIDA de l'USAID de 1997 à 2003, personne ressource pour la DSF dans le cadre de l'élaboration et des différentes révisions des PNP et curricula de formation continue des prestataires de services de PF, des

formateurs superviseurs en PF, personne ressource pour le CMLS santé dans le cadre de l'élaboration des curricula de formation pour le conseil dépistage du VIH pour les centres autonomes et pour le dépistage du VIH en milieu de soins. Je suis à la retraite depuis 2008 et je contenue de travailler avec la DSF et les partenaires.

Arsène Binanga

Arsene Binanga is a medical doctor who joined Tulane University LLC in April 1, 2013 as country director for the Family Planning Programs and he serves as Country Representative for Advance Family Planning in DRC and work with different ministries (Minister of Health; Gender and Family, Plan) to advance the Family Planning agenda and ensure continuous Government’s effort to support FP. Arsene is serving as the President of the

Multi sectorial Committee Family Planning Group working together to repositioning Family Planning in DRC. Prior to join Tulane LLC:

• Arsene Binanga worked for The Georgetown University’s Institute for Reproductive Health as Country Director for ten years and introduced and scaled up the Standard Days Method in DRC. Georgetown University closeout the office in March 2013.

• In 2001Arsene Binanga joined Christian Aid for two years (Faith Based organization based in London) to manage the HIV/AIDS project funded by USAID aiming at providing support and care to People living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

• While student, Arsene worked about 8 years as Director and Program Manager of 3’C’Sante (a Congolese NGO specialized on HIV/AIDS prevention and STI prevent and treatment).

Arsene worked with DKT (American NGO) to pilot the use of misoprostol for PPH and PAC in DRC. While working for Georgetown University, Arsene was elected National Coordinator of the National FP group to reposition the FP in DRC and he is currently leading the Strategic Planning process.

Alison Bodenheimer

Alison Bodenheimer est Chargée de l’initiative AFP pour l'Afrique francophone. Elle travaille avec des partenaires afin de mettre en œuvre les efforts de plaidoyer de l'AFP pour la République Démocratique du Congo, le Sénégal et le Burkina Faso. Comme expérience dans l'Afrique francophone, elle était consultante d'une étude qualitative pour UNICEF au Sénégal, au Bénin et en Madagascar, ainsi que dirigeante d'une étude qu'elle a conçue sur terrain de deux villages ruraux au Mali pour l'initiative Season Smart de l'Université de Columbia, aux États-Unis

d'Amérique. De plus, elle a travaillé comme interprète et traductrice indépendante pour les demandeurs d'asile politique du Côte d'Ivoire et Ruanda, et elle a dirigé divers projets concernant la santé reproductive, la planification familiale et les maladies infectieuses à travers l'Afrique et l'Asie. Avant de joindre l'équipe AFP, Alison était consultante pour le projet d'émigration forcée et de santé de l'Université de Columbia à Amman, en Jordanie, où elle a travaillé avec UNICEF afin d'améliorer la surveillance et les rapports des violations des droits de l'enfant dans la région. Alison a obtenu un Masters en santé publique de l'École de santé publique de Mailman à l'Université de Columbia, aux États-Unis d'Amérique, et une licence en psychologie et français de l'université College of the Holy Cross dans le Massachussetts, aux États-Unis d'Amérique.

Beth Fredrick

Beth Fredrick is helping to lead Advance Family Planning as the Executive Director, with The Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, part of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has worked with the Center for Communications Programs, also a partner of AFP, with the

International Women’s Health Coalition as their Executive Vice President and with the Guttmacher Institute as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. She was a Bell Fellow at Harvard University and adjunct faculty

3 at the New York University Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She chairs the Board of Ibis Reproductive Health and serves as Treasurer for the Board of EMpower, a grant-making organization which supports health and development programs in emerging markets.

Marie-Paul Gbedjrou

Based in Accra (Ghana) as the Program Assistant of the Futures Group West Africa office, Marie-Paule Gbedjrou over the past few years has technically and logistically supported and coordinated several high level meetings, conferences and projects to facilitate policy advocacy and dialogue on Reproductive Health

and HIV & AIDS issues among experts and key stakeholders in most West Africa countries. Marie administratively manages the Futures Group Regional office and also closely assists the Regional Director, Modibo Maiga in his policy mission within the West Africa Region.

Mobido Maiga

Modibo Maiga is Regional Director of Futures Group West Africa, based in the Ghanaian capital, Accra. He is an expert on family planning and sexual and reproductive health, as well as HIV. Born in Mali, Modibo has dedicated almost 30 years of his life to making a difference in public health, and promoting the effective development of the countries that make up his homeland. From 2002 to 2009, he was Country Director for Mali and Regional

Coordinator of the POLICY Project and Health Policy Initiative for Futures Group. Subsequently, Modibo moved

into a role as Senior Policy Technical Advisor under USAID’s AWARE II, and in 2011 took up his current position as Regional Director for Futures Group West Africa in charge of regional activities under the company’s flagship Health Policy Project.

Malonga Miatudila

Rockville, MD USA – Consultant, Tulane University email: mmiatudila@hotmail.com

Malonga Miatudila graduated as a Medical Doctor at the Lovanium University in 1971 before earning, five years later, a master’s degree in Public Health from Tulane University. For eighteen years, he worked as a civil servant of the Government of Zaire – present DR Congo. In his country, he held various positions, including Director of the Kinshasa’s Mama Yemo Hospital – a 2000-bed facility - and Medical Advisor of the Minister of

4 Health and Chief Advisor of the Minister in charge of Women and Family Affairs. In the 70’s, he was instrumental in the transformation of the Government CNND (Comite National des Naissances Desirables) into a Family Planning Association, the first NGO associated with IPPF in the French speaking Sub-Saharan Africa. During the Ebola Break in 1976, he was charged with organizing provision of medical care in the affected area; he contributed to choosing the name “Ebola” of the virus responsible for epidemic. He also suggested the use of serotherapy for the treatment of people affected with the Ebola virus. From 1990 to 2005, he worked for the World Bank as a Public Health Specialist for various countries, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa. Since his retirement, he devotes his time as an advisor to individuals and organizations interested in the areas of Public Health and International Development.

Rodrigue Ngouana

Rodrigue NGOUANA est Responsable du Bureau Afrique de l’Ouest de Equilibres & Populations. Entièrement dévoué à l’amélioration du bien-être des populations en situation de vulnérabilité, Rodrigue considère les partenariats comme des maillons essentiels dans ce travail. Il s’efforce à promouvoir la création d’alliances collaboratives parmi un large éventail d’individus, d’organisations et de gouvernements afin de surmonter les défis socio sanitaires des pays africains. Il conduit actuellement dans la sous région plusieurs projets de plaidoyer

dans le secteur de la santé et droits sexuels en matière de procréation. Il possède un Master 2 en Economie Conseil et Gestion Publique de l’Université de Rennes 1 en France.

Thiaba Sembène

Mon nom est Thiaba SEMBENE, je suis du Sénégal. Sociologue de formation, je m’intéresse beaucoup aux droits humains et particulièrement aux droits de la santé sexuelle et reproductive. Assistante de programmes au Réseau Siggil Jigéen, je travaille sur les programmes depuis 2009. Mon expérience dans le domaine du plaidoyer, me motive à approfondir mes connaissances, pour mieux les partager avec d’autres me permettant ainsi de promouvoir le droit à la santé des femmes et des filles.

Fatou Ndiaye Turpin

Je suis Fatou Ndiaye Turpin, je viens de Dakar, République du Sénégal en Afrique de l’Ouest. Je suis diplômée de l’institut de l’Education Populaire et sportive de l’Université Cheikh Anta DIOP de Dakar (option Education Populaire), membre fondatrice du Réseau Siggil Jigéen créée en (1995). Je suis une militante des droits de l’homme et plaide en faveur de la promotion et de la protection des droits des femmes. Ma conviction et mon engagement personnel dans le domaine des droits sexuels et reproductifs font de moi une combattante et une

championne de la planification familiale. La capitalisation de mes expériences dans ces domaines me motive alors à approfondir mes connaissances, pour mieux les partager avec d’autres me permettant ainsi de promouvoir une meilleure santé pour les femmes et les filles.
