6-MONTH RESEARCH INTERNSHIP, HEC GENEVE
We are offering a research internship for a master-level student in management or sociology for 6 month (September-February) at the university of Geneva, in the HEC department.
We are currently conducting a study on corporate alumni networks; this research project is funded by the SNF (Swiss National Fund for research) and is led by Pr. Emmanuel
Josserand, HEC, University of Geneva.
We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in doing a research-oriented internship. Main tasks during the internship:
• Participation in the last phase of data gathering in New Zealand (October) (10%)
• Coding and analysis of data of several case studies (coding of interview material mainly) (40%)
• Writing up of results (form to be discussed) that can be validated as a Master thesis (30%)
• Participation to the organization of the 4th Management and Social Networks conference (to be held in Geneva in February 2012 (20%)
The allowance for this internship is 1200 CHF per month, from September 2011 to February 2012, + a budget for the New Zealand travel and stay.
Candidates are expected to have the following qualifications:
• Full proficiency in English and in French
• Be in their last year of Master degree (or finished), in Management or Sociology
• Strong interest for research
• Analytical skills, familiar with qualitative research
• Motivated to work with a research team but also able to work independently
• Knowledge of Nvivo or similar software would be a plus
