(800 caractères max.) Virtualization consists in enabling the coexistence of multiple logically isolated partitions over shared physical infrastructures or resources. Network virtualization, or software-defined networking, are emerging and promizing technologies that leverage upon virtualization concepts to offer more scalability, reconfigurability, and resource-efficiency for the future networking products. One current research proposition on the topic is called OpenFlow. It consists in an open protocol to control flow tables of switches, to build an open virtual network architecture with a powerful management interface.
The objective of this internship is to first undertake a review of state-of-the-art approaches in the domain of network virtualization. Then, to prepare a proof- of-concept demonstrator showing the benefits of such an approach by provisionning services relevant to Thales needs.
