COVID-19 update

The first cases of an outbreak of a disease caused by a novel coronavirus were reported to WHO by the People’s Republic of China on 31 December 2019.

The disease was subsequently named coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19.

Les premiers cas d’une flambée de maladie due à un nouveau coronavirus ont été signalés à l’OMS par la République popu- laire de Chine le 31 décembre 2019. La maladie a par la suite été désignée sous le nom de maladie à coronavirus 2019, ou COVID-19 dans sa forme abrégée.
