RESOLUTION No. 401 ASSOCIATE PERSONNEL

The INTER-AMERICAN BOARD OF AGRICULTURE, at its Twelfth Regular Meeting,

CONSIDERING:

That the capacity of the Institute to deliver services to its member countries may be further strengthened by expanding the Associate Personnel category to include volunteers and personnel of all levels and skills provided to IICA by partner institutions and entities to work on Institute projects and activities;

That by Resolution IICA/CE/Res.398(XXIII-O/03), the Executive Committee modified the Institute’s Staff Rules in order to expand the Associate Personnel category, as recommended by the Director General, and recommended that the IABA approve the amendments to sections (a) and (d) of Article 14 of the Rules of Procedure of the General Directorate, regarding the categories of Institute personnel,

RESOLVES:

1. To amend Article 14 of the Rules of Procedure of the General Directorate, on the Institute’s personnel, as follows:

a. To eliminate Article 14 (a)(iv).

b. To add the following section (d) to Article 14:

d. ASSOCIATE PERSONNEL - volunteers, including former IICA staff members who wish to donate their services to IICA, and employees and contractors of partner institutions or entities, provided by same to IICA in compliance with the provisions of the Staff Rules.

2. To urge the General Directorate to create a roster of experts available in the agricultural sector to provide their services, while on sabbatical, to the member countries.
